About Wim

Wim Foekema was born and raised in Holland. He started riding at the age of nine and had an all around equestrian education with dressage being his main interest. He received his Commandanten Diploma and Assistant Instructors Diploma from the ORUN * in the Netherlands.

Wim moved to the USA in August of 1987 to study at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota. During this period he started teaching riding as well and did workshops with Bill Woods and Major Anders Lundgren, participated in various clinics and competed in eventing and dressage.

Wim is currently working out of Jan Fisk's beautiful North Brook Farm in Stillwater, Minnesota, during the spring and summer months and moves to Ocala, Florida, where Pas de Deux South is his home and workplace in the winter.

He currently is competing Ovatio, a Dutch Warmblood gelding (Houston x Rex Magna xx) at Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire I, and Oelizan a Dutch Warmblood mare (Jet Set D x Nabuur) at 3rd and 4th levels. The newest addition, Zfinx (Prestige VDL x Krack C) will have his premier this winter at the Florida circuit as well as Raichu (Rajco x Larome). (See photos of Zfinx and Raichu on the Horses for Sale page.)

Wim recently received Bronze and Silver Medals from the USDF and is going to work hard on earning his Gold Medal this winter with help from Gunnar Ostergaard.

Wim also gives clinics in many states and holds clinics at Pas de Deux North in Burnsville, Minnesota, and North Brook Farm in Stillwater, Minnesota. Both locations are in the Minneapolis-St Paul area.
